Day Six: Give Back Mission to Express Gratitude

Today is the sixth day of my mission to spread kindness and help others. In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, please read: Join My Give Back Mission to Spread Kindness and Say Thank You.

Today, I decided to buy a kid. No, not the human variety, but the cute one with four legs. Thanks to the His Hands for Haiti Kid for a Kid program, you can purchase a baby goat to help a child and their family living in the remote mountain community of Danda in Haiti.

For only $40 you can make a major difference in the lives of children living in Haiti, which is only 700 miles off the coast of Florida and is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. It is a place where one out of 8 children will not live to see their 5th birthday

Ownership of a goat not only teaches a child valuable life skills but it can also provide food and income for a family. At maturity, the goat can reproduce once or twice a year. Selling the goat’s offspring can provide much-needed income for the family and the mother goat will provide a supply of healthy goat’s milk.

The His Hands Support Ministries – Haiti also has other amazing programs. Their Child Sponsorship Program allows you to sponsor the education of a child living in Haiti, where there is no free education system.

You can sponsor a child in Haiti to help them attend school. $50 (US) twice per school year, will pay for one of these children to attend school, will provide them with a uniform, an education as well as a hot meal at school (in the schools that prepare a noon meal).

Please take a moment and check out this organization. I know the daughter of the founders well and they truly give every penny they raise to the children in need. All trips are paid by the volunteers and your donations will never go to “administrative” costs.

I decided to buy a kid today and it only took a couple of clicks using my PayPal account. Will you join me?

Good Deed Idea of the Day

My good deed idea for today is to let someone go ahead of you in line. Whether you are at the grocery store, bank, post office, target, etc it would be a nice thing to do to make someone’s day!
