What I Wore: The Green Coat with Cobalt Blue Bag – #RealMomStyle

For a few weeks now, my good friend Maria José Ovalle of Very Busy Mama has been urging me to participate in her weekly #RealMomStyle feature. My hesitation has been that fashion is one of those areas I usually only admire from a distance. I love beautiful things, but I’m not always the best at putting together looks. Also, my daily wardrobe usually consists of a t-shirt and jeans without any makeup, so I don’t have many opportunities to share a “look.” Today, I am stepping outside my comfort zone to play along and share my Real Mom Style.

This weekend I headed to brunch in Old Town Alexandria, but before I left I was able to convince Tiny Steps Daddy to snap a couple of shots of me in my colorful ensemble (he didn’t even complain too much). This Spring I am all about accessories with color.

I fell in love with this pea green coat by Laundry by Designs. It is bright, bold and fits well. This is one of my most colorful coat choices ever, but it makes me feel great and oh so ready for Spring.

Real Mom Style

I hesitated about pairing my bright green coat with my new amazing cobalt blue leather quilted bag, but I was feeling adventurous and loving the taste of Spring on Saturday, so I went ahead and doubled down on my colors! This bag is my latest find from Zoe Boutique in Old Town Alexandria.

Under the coat I went with a more neutral palette with a gray blouse and charcoal colored trousers. My necklace is one of my Stella and Dot favorites – the amazing Milana Tassel Necklace.

To finish up my look I went a bold red on the lips a la Maria José! I hope you like my look because I was a little nervous to share. Who knows, maybe I’ll do it again!
